
Mulled apple cocktails

Ingredients:

2 ltrs cloudy apple juice

3 clementines or satsumas, halved, squeezed and plopped into the pan

1 lime, sliced

2 cinnamon sticks

2 star anise
-
4-6 cloves, depending on taste

Nutmeg, freshly grated

Good quality honey, squeezed in to taste (about 1-2 tbsp)

Bottle of good spiced rum
Method:

In a big pan, pour in the apple juice and put over a low heat.

Add the fruit, spices and honey, reduce the heat to as low as possible and cover. Allow to meld together. Your house will smell amazing.

Don't allow it to get too hot or it will reduce and all you want it to do is mingle.

Pour a 25ml shot of rum into a heatproof glass and top up with a ladelful of the spicy apple. Yum.
